Merchant FAQ's
1. There are so many promotional programs, what makes Global i-care™ different?
A. All other programs limit you to only shopping in their store. We are the only multi-Merchant network in Thailand that allows you to market to millions of Cardholder’s for all their purchases.
In addition, our Cardholders and Merchants can win millions of Baht in prizes every month which provides a powerful incentive for everyone to support the program.
Most importantly, we support many charities in Thailand so every transaction supports those less fortunate than ourselves.
2. Are you a loyalty card or a Visa Card?
A. First and foremost we are a loyalty Card. We simply give you a free Visa Top-up Card so you can shop at as many Merchants as possible who support the program
3. How can I top up my Card?
A. Just use the ATM at any of these banks: Bank of Ayudhya, K Bank, Thai Military Bank or UOB.
4. How can I find out where to use my card?
A. We have many new Merchants signing up with us every day so we add them to the Merchant listing on our Website: www.globalicare.com. You can search by City, Province or even type in a Merchant’s name to see if they are in the Program.
5. What is the difference between and Gold and a Blue Merchant?
A. Gold Merchants have a Global i-care™ terminal and can accept payment from our Cardholder’s in cash, by credit card or debit card. This means Gold Merchants can accept any form of payment while also rewarding our Cardholders for their business. Blue Merchants use their existing terminal to process our Cardholder’s transactions which means our Cardholder’s must use their Global i-care™ VISA Top-up card to pay for their purchase.
6. What is a Redemtion Merchant
A. A Redemption Merchant is able to offer savings for our Cardholder’s as well as allow them to redeem their Gics for goods and services. Redemtion Merchants are typically larger sized businesses e.g. 12 Call, Jiffy Service Stations, Villa Market.
7. Can I just give your Cardholder’s a discount on the spot rather than having to process it through a terminal?
A. This would be like taking money from the charities we support! If you do not process the transaction through your terminal we cannot donate a portion to charity.
In addition, both you and the Cardholder will miss out on the chance to win millions of Baht in prizes every month.
We also reserve the right to cancel a Merchant’s contract if they do this as we feel it is like stealing from the Program. No one wins if Merchants allow this to occur.
8. How can I attract your Cardholder’s to my business?
A. There are several ways to make sure you attract our Cardholders:
* Offer the best savings you can so our Cardholder’s will choose to shop with you.
* Ask EVERY customer if they are a Cardholder (especially your regulars) – we will also reward for every new Cardholder you sign up to the Program.
* Make sure you put EVERY transaction through your terminal so both you and the Cardholder are eligible for millions of Baht in prizes every month.
* Make sure you display our Welcome Here window sticker in a prominent place – you want passer’s by to see it so they walk into your business.
9. What transaction fees are there for accepting your card?
A. Gold Merchants do not pay any transaction fees. We own the terminals and are not interested in making a profit from helping our Cardholders and Merchants do business together. As Blue Merchants use their existing terminals, they will pay whatever transaction fee they have negotiated from their terminal supplier.
10. Can your terminal accept all credit cards like my own terminal?
A. Yes! This is one of the reasons many Merchants sign up for our Gold Program as we have very low fees for other card transactions.
11. How do I get the savings I give to Cardholder’s to Global i-care™?
A. This is very simple. We give you Global i-care™ VISA Top-up Card which you must keep with a minimum credit balance of 2000 Baht. Every day we simply debit the card by the amount of savings processed through your terminal. All you have to do is top up the card to maintain your 2000 Baht minimum credit.
12. Are there any restrictions or guidelines on the type of offer I must create?
A. We recognize that the profit margins associated with each business type vary so all we ask is that you give the best discount you can to encourage our Cardholders to shop with you. Remember, it is a competitive world we live in so Cardholders will shop around for the best deal.
13. It all sounds so simple. Is it?
A. Yes! Our concept is intended to be a turnkey operation for all our Merchants. We provide you with online access to your Merchant listing so you can keep your details up to date. Just create your offer for our Cardholders, post your listing and make sure you have our Welcome Here sticker prominently displayed on your window so they can find you.
14. Where will my business be advertised on the Global i-care™ website?
A. As one of our Merchants, you will have your own web page where you can provide information about your business and promote any special offers. We will also provide a direct link to your own official website if you have one.
15. Can I change my discount at any time?
A. You are more than welcome to change the savings you offer our Cardholders. You are able to access your own secure account through the Global i-care™ website to update your offer, product information, etc. It is a simple and easy process to manage.
16. Does Global i-care™ provide a support service for its Merchants?
A. Yes, we provide a full back-up support for Merchants. We have dedicated Merchant and CardholderServiceCenters where all your questions can be answered and any difficulties solved. Our Service Centers can be accessed by calling our Central Bangkok Office on 02 264 0454 or, alternatively, emailing your request to us at info@globalicare.com.
17. Is it possible to have Global i-care™ Cards that feature my own business logo?
A. Yes. We can arrange for co-branded Cards to be made that feature your logo as the main part of their design. Contact us for further details.
18. Can Global i-care™ Merchants conduct cross-promotions together?
A. Certainly. In fact we encourage this and will help coordinate cross-promotion campaigns where the Global i-care™ Card helps link the respective businesses. You can even use the Global i-care™ website to promote these special activities. Contact us with your idea so we can help.
